Roman Opalka: the research to infinity

The argument presented within this thesis is based on the work and life of Roman Opalka, a well-known artist of Polish origin, born in 1931 in France, in the Somme. Through careful and accurate analysis, we focus not only on the artist’s life but also on the dilemma behind the representation of time and infinity, which has troubled him since childhood. To understand the artist’s poetics, I took into consideration the literary works and the mathematical-scientific research to which Opalka referred to define his artistic research.

The Sound of Villa Molin: An accessible itinerary for people with visual impairment

In contemporary society, the relationship between accessibility and cultural heritage remains challenging. In fact, people with disabilities, particularly those with visual impairments, encounter significant barriers in cultural environments. This thesis investigates the challenge mentioned earlier, focusing on Villa Molin, a Venetian villa designed by Vincenzo Scamozzi in 1597, as a case study to explore different solutions for improving the fruition of cultural heritage.
